圣约翰大学(St. John’s University)，是美国东部主要综合性大学，位于美国纽约州纽约市近郊皇后区；它也是目前美国最大的天主教会学校，前身为“遣使会”于1870年在纽约州皇后县创设的学员，以及1872年“聚会使团(Congregation of the Mission)”创立的圣约翰文学联盟。
圣约翰大学为一所设有研究所的四年制综合大学，由文理学院(College of Liberal Arts and Science)，法学院(School of Law)，药学院(College of Pharmacy and Allied Health Professions)，商学院(Peter J. Tobin College of Business)，教育学院(The School of Education)，职业进修学院(College of Professional Studies)等学院组成；另外还设有神学院，各种专业齐全，多个专业有硕士和博士学位。

圣约翰大学为美东体育名校之一，属于美国国家大学体育协会(NCAA)大东区(Big East)联盟，强项为篮球，足球(1996年 NCAA男子组冠军)等，特别是男子篮球队，为美国大学传统著名强队之一。校队原以“红人队(Redmen)”富有盛名，后为避免种族联想，改名为 “红色风暴(Red Storm)”。前NBA职业篮球球员克里斯*穆林(Chris Mullin)， 有NBA“上帝的左手”之称，两届奥林匹克运动会金牌获得者(1984年洛杉矶奥运会篮球比赛和1992年巴塞罗那奥运会篮球比赛)，目前担任其男子篮球队主教练，并率男子篮球队两次打进NCAA最后4强，并保持有多次打进64强记录。
二、学校设施圣约翰大学位于纽约市皇后区的主销区以外，还有曼哈顿，史泰登岛(Staten Island), 意大利罗马等校区和分布。皇后区主校区占地约97英亩，在寸土寸金的纽约市，实属难能可贵。主校区位于纽约市近郊，环境安静，同时又离纽约市中心曼哈顿只有20分钟车程，地点极为便利。校园周围大都是安静较好的住宅区。几年前新修的学生宿舍，可容纳几千学生，是全美较好的学生宿舍之一。
圣约翰大学的亚洲研究中心及亚洲研究所是中华民国政府于1970年代注资设立，曾为纽约地区中国及东亚研究的一大重镇；目前圣约翰大学图书馆仍保有丰富的汉文藏书。校内的亚洲研究中心是一个中式风格建筑。

五、教授介绍Glenn Gerstner
Chair & Associate Professor
Prof. Gerstner has been a faculty member at St. John’s since 1989 and is proud alumni as well, having graduated from the College of Professional Studies in 1981. He taught economics and finance at St. John’s from until 2006 when he moved to the Division of Sport Management, where he currently is the Division Chair and Director of the Undergraduate Sport Management Program.
He is an active member of the North American Association of Sports Economists, the Eastern Economic Association, and the New York State Economics Association, and his research interests are in the areas of tournament theory, the economics of intercollegiate athletics, and sports in popular culture. In 2008, he was awarded the St. John’s University Outstanding Faculty Achievement Medal.

David P. Hedlund
Dr. Hedlund has over 15 years of domestic and international experience in sport, coaching, business and education. His areas of sport expertise and research include management, marketing, consumer behavior, entrepreneurship, coaching and analytics. In recent years, Dr. Hedlund has acted as a journal, conference and book reviewer for organizations from around the world. Dr. Hedlund also acts as a consultant for sports analytics groups and other sport, business and entrepreneurial ventures, while also co-directing the St. John's University Sports Analytics (SJUSA) seminar。

Emese Ivan
For the past decade, Dr. Emese Ivan has investigated development through sport and sport to promote social justice initiatives at the individual, community, and international levels. Specifically, her research focuses on educational, social, and economic values of sport participation with a focus on the idea of Olympism and Olympic values. Her current projects also include conducting international sport for social change programs。
She has over 15 years of experience organizing international youth sport and educational exchange programs as well as working on sport related marketing and PR initiatives of corporations in Canada, Germany, Hungary, Russia, and the USA.
Recently she serves as the Chair and Graduate Program Director of the Sport Management division。
